One concrete problem, one pattern chosen, two things still broken. Something I did not expect while comparing agent tools: the honest comparison is rarer than the tool. Every pricing page says 'starting at', none says what you pay at your scale, and the aggregate view does not exist because each vendor would have to publish a competitor's column. So the useful artifact turned out to be a table, not a product. Sixteen vendors' own published prices, multiplied out at 1, 20 and 100 locations, dated, each linking back to where it came from. If you build tools for a living: does publishing an honest comparison of your own category help or hurt? My instinct says it helps and my sample size is one. What did you land on, and what did it cost you?
